My Story

Growing up Football was the only thing I cared about, I played for teams such as Aberdeen Fc, Ross County, Elgin City, before earning a move to Hibernian FC. This saw me leaving school at lunchtime, travelling to Edinburgh and not getting back until 1am. I did this 3-4 times per week for nearly two years. It finally caught up to me and I fell out of love with Football. I stopped playing altogether. I felt like I had lost my identity. I left school at 16 to become an Apprentice Joiner at Robertson construction. Then covid happened, furloughed and left with a lot of time to reflect. I realised how unhappy I was, I then decided to go down the route I always wished I had done, this being Web Development. From here I studied the necessary courses to gain entry to Edinburgh Napier University, in which I then completed my degree in User Experience Design. This obstacle of a journey taught me lots about myself, including how far I am willing to go for what I love.

My Goal

Due to having experience in both programming and user experience this has allowed me to understand how two teams work together to achieve a common goal. It gave me understanding of the technical feasibility of design solutions.

I’m looking for a position where I can continue to grow as a designer, where I can learn from the experience of others and continue to improve every day.
